Since I work right across from BWI (a food desert), I was desperate to look for quality food. After doing some research, I wound up on this hole in the wall joint. It was a bit intimidating coming here at first. There's only a few tables and it's nearly empty every time that I'm here. But at least there is a TV showing Spanish language movies to keep me occupied while waiting for the food. Even though the menu contains a variety of Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes, I usually get the tacos. The choices of meats are chicken, chorizo, beef, and pork. There are some choices that are listed only in Spanish. These are the offal cuts of pork and beef such as skin (buche), tripe, stomach, and head (cabeza). Being the adventurous eater that I am, I tried them all on different occasions and can say that they are highly recommended. I would say that the head and skin are the best. My only gripe is that it costs more to get 3 tacos with different meats instead of the same. I just really don't get that. There was one adventurous occasion where I got a bowl of menudo or tripe soup to eat in. And big is an understatement. They must have used an entire cow stomach in that one bowl. It also came with some onions, cilantro, lime, and tortillas. And this was all after a starter of chips with salsa verde on the house. Really filling and can feed one person for an entire day. If I hadn't found this place on yelp, I would never known.

Tacos are AMAZING. Go here about once a month, and can't bring myself to order anything else.

Pictures posted are accurate I'm waiting on my fried fish and I wanted soup but he said only on weekends. That's crazy but inside is quiet and small. Good food $14.50 4 stars because I really wanted to get tripe soup it's a little chilly out and my tummy need something soothing but maybe next time

SO being a native of the Golden State and rating Mexican Food as the number one seed with regards to culturally specific foods, I have missed good eating. I discovered this place here on Yelp and man I was not disappointed. As others have said, don't let the outdoor or indoor look turn you away, while it looks shoddy, its not dirty or anything like that. But man they get the food right. Finding a Chimichanga done right is a hard thing and they hit it spot on here. Thick cut chips and good salsa. Again, they got it right. The prices are at the right point in relation to the quantity of portions. But for me it was like being back in San Diego in one of the hundreds of joints just like this that are there. I was sitting at the table and the TV has Soccer running (Madrid playing somebody) and the refrigerators with all of the mini glass bottles of various non-standard soda drinks that you can only find in those kind of joints. It was like a throwback to stomping around Bario Logan when I was a young sailor desperately looking for a Chimi and a Pacifico to make a summer day just perfect.

When you need an authentic Mexican taco fix in the Glen Burnie area.. This is your best bet. Husband loves the Menudo soup (tripe) as well.

Its a small space but the food has big taste. You should have to use your passport to get food this authentic.

This place was reallly good. We had tacos - carne asada, el pastor, carnitas, carne enchilada - all were really good. We will definitely go back next time we are going to BWI!!

Very good food. I had the tacos al pastor and they were great. Well priced and they didnt skimp on the meat. I'll definitely be coming back here.

  • Makenzie B.

Great! I was very impressed. Like others said, it's teeny, but it's very cute and clean. I loved the guacamole and pico de gallo - made fresh. The pico could've been spicier, but I read after ordering that you're actually able to order a spicier version. The chips were delicious: thick and just the right amount of oil. Excellent chicken taco. Excellent steak tostada (huge!). I'll come back and recommend it to friends.

The food is good. The steak burrito was mostly lettuce. We got charged more than the menu listed. While the food is good I won't be running back.

Carne Asada for shizzle! Like Hammer said.. 2 LEGIT!! Being from SoCal and my Buddy from Texas, we know what Mexican Food is supposed to be about. We both ordered the carne asada burritos and I got a pollo asado taco on the side. The cook got our order and quickly threw it on the grill. While waiting for our food, we got served some chips and delicious guacamole. My burrito and rice were delicious, serving size was good for the price. The taco and the grilled onions were terriffic! Friendly service and freshly cooked food puts a smile on my face. My tummy was satisfied with the wonderful flavor of the food too :)

This place food taste just like it looks... Terrible... Food taste like it's frozen then warmed up in microwave !! Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemies!! Not sure what the people who have this place rating 3-5 stars are smoking. But they haven't had authentic Mexican ever if they think this place is even close to being good. I was pissed that I read these reviews and show up based of them and the food was so nasty. So now you have been warned!!!

  • Amanda P.

For me this place is what I think Mexican food should taste like. The tacos are sooo good and stuffed with whatever meat you order. The grilled veggies are a delightful bonus to your meal. Love their red and green sauce but it can be spicy. Definitely worth a try!

  • BeYonne W.

Ok so this is a real Mexican restaurant. You must love cilantro and onions or you should stay home. The chips are real home made tortilla chips...thick cut. The guac is loaded with cilantro and onions it is equisite. I had three chicken tacos they had three tortillas each!! The tacos were loaded with well seasoned chicken, cilantro, onions and more. Absolutely delicious.

If you like authentic tacos this place can't be beat. It's a little pricey so it's not somewhere you would likely eat every day; but it is delicious enough to warrant the once a week or twice a month outing. Considering I am a bit of a local connoisseur of Mexican food: Tijuana Tacos is better than Los Portales, which is better than On the Border, better than Don Pablo's, better than El Salto.

  • Dayna K.

Best carnitas street tacos around...It's hard to get really good Mexican food out here compared to SanDiego...but they are pretty close! The Carne Asada burrito is very good too! Best places are the ones you least expect...

Holy Tostada's!!! Is that a UFO, No!!! is that a bird? A plane? Noo0 it's the Tostada's from Tijuana Tacos!! TT (Tijuana Tacos) is a very small place right off of 100 and 97... right next to Gas station and Flower shop... you will most likely almost miss it... well at least I did till my co-pilot said "Right there!" Food: When you first walk in you think... ok awesome little mom and pop shop... but how is the total experience (food, price, service, décor, etc) Well any worries I had when I started are long gone by the time I left with my belly full. There were 4 of us with two vegetarians and two meat eaters. First the meat eaters, ordered one round of tres tacos (2 pork and 1 pollo asdo- grilled chicken) and one round of tres tostados (2 pollo loco - marinated chicken and 1 pollo asado grilled chicken). First the Tacos, they come out double shelled fresh corn tortillas stuffed with the meat, sautéed onions, fresh lime and other extras... The chicken was great, not dry and not overly wet either. I dislike it when the chicken feels like it's been sitting in a vat of sauce all day... this was not that. The double shells were clutch as well, the Taco wasn't exploding all over my clothes as I tried to eat... so bonus points for that! Tostada's!! They come out on a huge plate, each tostada about the size of a saucer plate, so good size and your get THREE of them. They all were perfectly crispy but not burnt, and they stayed that way almost the WHOLE time!! I mean crispy till the end even with salsa, lettuce, tomatoes, etc etc unheard of! So big bonus pts for that! Each tostada was layered starting with the tostada, then a layer of refried beans (paste form so its spreadable), chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, fresh Mexican crème and then a dash of Mexican cheese (powdered form)... Holy Tostada was it a sight and taste to behold! With each bite you got a great texture and flavor as your bit through each layer one by one... your mouth not wanting the exp to end!! The chicken was great too, both type were prepared differently so they had distinct textures and flavors, both were killer though! These were hands down the best tostada's I have ever had!! The rest of the party got veggie fajitas which came out with a ton of veggies, rice and good black beans each were done well and flavorful. Last up for the food was the tres leces dessert!! Yum yum yum!! I normally dislike, with a big dislike tres leces, since most of the time it is soggy, sloppy, and just way too sweet(I know, I know too sweet!) But this tres leces was spot on, the cake had a great consistency and the sweetness was cut by the cake so the sweet didn't take all flavor out of your mouth. Pts for an awesome Tres Leces! So that is food, next up service and price Service and price: The service spot on, the server was attentive, knowledgeable, funny and engaging. He joked around, had fun but took great care of us. The thing that I REALLY liked about the service was that the vegetarians asked if they could clean the grill prior to cooking their veggies, after a long day of cooking I am sure that the grill had seen a lot of meat. Normally, restaurants look at us like we are crazy, but not here! He said no problem and was totally cool with clean their grill prior to cooking the veggies!! Big ups for that!! Price: The price is decent, actually pretty good for the amount of good you get. We spent around 10-14 per person including dessert and drinks(soda) so a perfectly ok in my book. Overall TT was HIT! From the food to the service to the prices, this is now one of my fav. Mexican places around!! I hope to try the other items, but the tostada's were THAT good that I may not get past them! If you are in the mood for solid solid Mexican food, then try TT, it is awesome! Look!!! is that a UFO in the sky??? (points to the sky) Oops who ate your Tostada!! Cheers mates!!

Having recently moved to Baltimore from San Diego, I wanted to find a place with good, authentic tacos to satisfy cravings. I didn't have high hopes for this endeavor because I haven't seen many Mexicans in this city, but I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It's definitely a hole in the wall; we missed the door the first time we passed by (even though someone had just walked out of it), and the interior is pretty cramped so it may not be the most comfortable if you're eating in. We ordered 4 tacos to try. They're more expensive than I'm used to, but they're also on the larger side. (Note: 3 of the same tacos cost $9.75, but 3 different types of tacos are $10.50 or something like that. They should consider rephrasing it so that you feel rewarded for ordering the same taco, rather than being punished for ordering a variety.) The buche taco was really good, and so far, my favorite. The lengua taco was a bit blander, as it's usually been when I've had it at other places. I prefer stronger flavors in my tacos, but the meat is still good and I would eat it by itself. The chorizo taco was okay. It was flavorful, but also had a sourness to it that threw me off. I've also become accustomed to eating my chorizo tacos with cheese in it, which rocks my socks, but cheese did not come with this place's rendition. The tripa taco was good, though it had that musty offal smell. That smell is always a hit or miss with me, and really depends on how I'm feeling at the moment. The tacos came with red and green salsas (my husband says they were okay), and grilled peppers (non-spicy) and small onions (my husband liked them a lot). The horchata is good but came with too much ice, which melted and diluted the drink before I was done. They may also want to consider using a different type of cup because the base is too wide to fit in standard car cup holders. All in all, this seems like a good place to get my taco fix. I'm looking forward to trying their other offerings next time, including their mango juice.

Ok seriously !!!! I was't sure what to expect. But I ride right by the place EVERY single day of my life. So I looked it up on yelp and it had great reviews. SO I tried it I met my dad and mom there for lunch. We all had different variations of soft tacos. Me carnitas, dad marinated pork, mom chicken. Not smother in cheese.. not smothered in sour cream, not smothered in oil and grease. The salsa they bring out is fresh and made in house. mmmm mmmm good. writing this make want to go there right now!!!! No effing lie!! the best... I mean the best mexican food I have had. I have had to force myself NOT to go back every single day. like every single day. It right across from my gym. Yes.. its small maybe 6 tables. Go there take a chance! I can t wait to try something new. 4 stars because the staff could have been slightly more welcoming. **shrugs**

Now this is Mexican food! Don't let the location fool you. This place reminds me of the Mexican food I've had in Cali and Arizona. I'm definitely coming back and I've already told my friends. Listen to all of the Yelpers who've reviewed this place and give it a try. You won't be dissatisfied.

  • Amber M.

Amazing quick taco place. I had chicken and beef tacos and they were the best I've had since Mexican places in socal! Nice staff and delicious... if you're looking for a decently priced Mexican meal in like 5 minutes I definitely recommend! Sidenote the spicy Pico is not a joke. I need milk.

We got chicken tacos and a beef chimichanga with red sauce and it was amazing! We will Defentley be back!

  • Tevona R.

Great food. Had 2 Chicken tacos and a Chorizo taco and they were both pretty good. Not a huge fan of their chorizo though. It wasn't spicy enough for my liking. Also think their cilantro was a little bland, but overall it was a great experience. I'll be back!!!

  • Matthew Y.

Best Mexican food I've had since leaving San Diego. The serving sizes are big and the prices are reasonable. I'll be headed back for a Mex fix in the near future.

  • Shawn Y.

I went there today for a spicy pork chimichanga and it was on point!! Make sure you get the red sauce...tasty!!

  • Nora B.

The food here was so good, it made me want to brush up on my Spanish so I can return & place my order with flair! So authentic with Depth of flavor. Large proportions. Staff seemed friendly despite my inability to place a proper order in their chosen language. I ended up with food different from what I thought I asked for by pointing to the menu, but I really didn't care bc it tasted so darn good! Next time I go, I will have practiced ordering properly so I don't seem like such an idiot!

  • Rico R.

Meh. Food was ok, not great, not bad. Service was non-existent, I saw the waitress when she delivered the food and that was it, she didn't even say hello. The burrito comes with a side of rice, which was stale, and the Al Pastor meat was VERY fatty. The chorizo taco was pretty good, but not great. I think I'll try another place next time.

    (3)
  • William C.

I ordered their Al Pastor Burrito and it was okay. I wasn't blown away nor was I disappointed. It just was. The rice that came with it was very dry. I was able to mask the dryness of the rice with the globs of ingredients that were hemorrhaging from my burrito with every bite I took from it. The prices are a bit steep for mediocre tex-mex food. I may be used to the quality and prices of a Tex Mex joint in Delaware. It's great to have some diverse cuisines in this area of Maryland, but I think Tijuana could do better to take their food up a notch (like maybe consider throwing the burrito on the grill after they wrap it to create a semi-crunchy bite?). I may go back if I ever feel like having some TexMex

  • Russell M.

This place is a Cantina. Don't let the lack of Decore mislead you. The food is very good the service is very good you will not be disappointed. It looks scary but the food is incredible.

    (5)
  • Chris A.

I am very disappointed with this place considering all the positive reviews I have seen on Yelp. I ordered the carne asada tacos along with rice and beans. Everything lacked one key element...flavor. Not even the mound of cilantro and onion piled on top had any flavor to add. Thankfully there were limes to help this dish along. I don't think I will be returning at all.

    (1)
  • Nathan C.

Here's the rule to follow if you go to Tijuana Tacos VI: Get the tacos. Get three, in fact. Meaty traditional-style tacos is what they specialize in here. I particularly recommend the carnitas and the carne de enchilada varieties. A three-taco order will come with grilled onions (as in whole bite-sized onions, grilled) and grilled cactus. Skip the burritos and such -- they're just not as good. I've had a burrito there, and my wife had the grilled chicken platter, and they were just "meh". But the tacos are GREAT. Note they do deliver, although I've never done it.

    (4)
  • Cristina H.

I wouldn't have known about this place if it wasn't for my coworker. Love their fresh mango juice. They also give you the drink in large Chinese soup containers. As many reviews on Yelp suggested, I had their carne asada burrito, and it was pretty good! My husband ordered their Mexican bistec? He loved it. We were there during lunch time. It wasn't packed at all. We'd definitely go there again.

    (4)
  • Jesse L.

Excellent location! Staff makes you feel like family. My family and I felt like we were in Mexico!

  • Gary P.

Really wasn't too impressed by this place, pretty much how I feel about most Mexican restaurants the area. Sure it's authentic Mexican food but what does that mean exactly. You can have an authentic American place for instance but how well do they cook? There are average cooks in every type of food and that's what I think of this place. Sure it's better than you're run of the mill Mexican/American joint but it just doesn't cut it for me sorry.

    (3)
  • Steve K.

So disappointed! 1st off, this place is grossly over priced. $3.50 for a taco? They have a special with 3 tacos, but if you get a mix ( beef or chicken) tacos they charge you more? WTF are they thinking.?? How does making 2 chicken tacos and 1 steak equate to justifying more money? I got a burrito plate, as there is no option for just a burrito alone. The plate comes with rice on the side, which was horrible. Undercooked and hard rice. Get this, $10 for a burrito which had very little steak. It was fresh, cooked to order but not much flavor. I wasted my time coming here, was hoping to get good Mexican. The $ rating should be $$$ for this sub par over priced place.

  • Kevin K.

I've made multiple attempts to get an order of guacamole and chips, as they advertise on their menu on their website, and each time I was turned away like they never had guacamole. I reported this on their Facebook page after the first time and was offered a free order of guac & chips the next time I came in, but clearly that was b.s.

Moved here from Cali 10 years ago and this is BY FAR the most authentic Mexican taco joint that my San Diego native wife and I have found in the entire DC area.

  • Brandon P.

Very good food. I have ordered their burritos and wings in the different times going there and while would not recommend their wings I would recommend their burritos. I speak little to no spanish so the while the menu does have both spanish and english listed some of the things are spanish only which is sucks. I would like to try some different things besides their burritos but without knowing what an item is I don't feel comfortable ordering it. Other than that I would recommend this place to anyone that likes mexican food.

Being a San Diego, CA native, I've had some of the worlds best taco shops. Authentic, flavorful and very greasy. With that being said this place couldnt hold a candle to some of the other places I've been. But still surpassed my expectations from a Maryland taco shop. Some things were just different from what i am used to and what i considered normal. I ordered 1 sope and a order of nachos especiales. Both were good. My guest ordered thegreen enchiladas which looked more like two tacos in green chile soup. She said her food was fine. I hear the TJ style tacos are deliecious and i will try those next time. All in all... The establishment itself was very clean. You could see everything in the kitchen from the counter which is always reassuring even if you dont look. The food is made to order. The staff is very polite, theyhave authentic mexican sodas, play beautiful spanish music and each table is decorated with a mexican flag replica. I'd recommend this place for a lunch break stop or even saturday or sunday morning menudo. Also they DO deliver within a two mile radius.

This place was like a mexican food oasis in an east coast sea of white folk food. I knew about the crab cakes you can find everywhere in Maryland but I needed some good mexican food damn it! And I'll be damned if I didn't find it, and in Maryland of all places. I was stationed at Fort Meade Army installation for some training and on my first weekend off headed to the closest comic book store I could find. This is when I came across Tijuana Tacos. I was a little weary about the quality of mexican food some 3,500 km east of Mexico. I would have thought id be better suited to find some Cuban food or Puerto Rican food but not mexican, boy was I mistaken. The tripa tacos were absolutely delectable and the carne asada torta was amazing. I usually ask for no cheese on my torta but this time it slipped my mind, when my torta came it had a layer of Oaxaca cheese, it's like a mix between mozzarella and string cheese, it's hard to describe other than telling you that coming from someone who normally hates cheese, this cheese has effectively changed my mind about cheese, but only this cheese. The Horchata was delicious and the chips and salsa a plentiful. The weight staff spoke no English but we both spoke mexican food and that language transcends words. If you ever find yourself in the middle of Maryland for whatever reason and you want to know what good authentic mexican food taste like, step inside this restaurant. I think I came in for lunch three times a week for the 6 months I spent in Maryland, and I curse the day I ever left that beautiful state and it's friendly people and they're delicious mexican food. One day I shall return, and I don't know if I'll make the mistake of leaving the state a second time. Love you Maryland!

Authentic Mexican food! Reminded me of Cozumel when I went. When you go get the pico de gallo....otherwise your missing out. Portions are very large, and full of flavor. Will be going back. This will be the only place I get my Mexican food fix at, from now on!

  • Hailie G.

As someone who was born and raised in so cal it has been tragic that there is no real Mexican food out here. However this place has come to the rescue. By far the best Mexican we have had in md. These guys are great. They came from tj so you know it's going to be authentic Mexican food. Their tacos and asada platter are to die for! Definitely try them out

So I went to this place because a co worker and fellow Yelper recommended it. I am all about anything carne asada, so I was really excited, considering there is a serious lack of good mexican food around here. Anyway, this place is really tiny inside, but right away when you walk in, you smell al the familiar mexican food smells. I ordered the carnes asada burrito came with rice. Was a big burrito but not huge. It had lettuce, tomato and avocado in it as well. Now I must say that I am used to my carne asada burritos coming with pico and guac in it, so I was a bit surprised, but the meat was flavored nicely and cooked just right. We also got complimentary chips and guac so that was cool. There also an abundance of sauces to choose from, which was really cool. There only seemdd to be two guys working, one cook, one counter, waiter guy, but the service was fast and friendly. I will def go back and try other menu options.

Killer tacos had several I forget which type but all we're banging. My friend got a quesadilla that was good too. The jarritos are mind bottling. But don't ask for soup during the week. Doesn't happen :(

  • Matt P.

Really good. I got a pork burrito. The pork was really marinated in a delicious sauce. Enjoyed the Mexican soda. I will be back. I lulu thing is that it's quite expensive. For two people it was 34 dollars.

It's small store front next to a flower shop is easy to miss and if you do it would be your loss. The inside has a small area for seating and your typical Spanish station showing soccer on TV that you usually see in authentic Mexican restaurants. I ordered a carne asada burrito and it was quickly made to order. The burrito was delicious with just the right amount of meat mixed in with the rest of the ingredients. I will come back soon to try out the highly recommended tacos.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Baltimore area. I usually order the carne asada tacos and they are amazing. The staff are great and it is really easy to call ahead for take out. If you eat in, they offer a huge basket if chips and there is always a football game on TV. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

  • Victoria K.

Super authentic. The place is kind of hidden and the staff isn't very attentive, but the food is delicious! The salsa was way too spicy for me though, but very tasty.

  • Chrystal G.

Very good hole in the wall taqueria. Had the Al pastor, chorizo and a salty beef taco, rice and beans. Oooo and an amazing pineapple agua fresca. Cheap and delicious everything tasted fresh and presumably the owner obviously took great pride in the food. Doesn't hurt that there was a relatively constant stream of patrons at 2 pm which is always a good sign.

So - i'm addicited to these tacos - I eat tacos atleast 4 times a week. I like the chicken tacos the best - the AL Pastor is also really good. The Mixed Grill Fajitas are also very good - haven't had anything here that I haven't loved. People are very nice. Go check this place out today!!

  • Ed G.

My family absolutely love this place and its tacos. The tacos al pastor are phenomenal. The food is straightforward and delicious and service is friendly, quick, and they know exactly what the ingredients are which is great for people with allergies and food intolerances. Our last couple trips to nearby R&R Taqueria have been a disappointment, so we are thrilled to have found this place. The dining room is small and you may have to compete with two blaring TVs showing Spanish programs, but I think it adds to the charm as the closest thing to Mexico you will find in this area.

Little History 1st then i tell u about Tijuana Tacos VI For Years before they took over the spot they in it used to be Joy's Sub Shop i used to go in to joys for years before my school bus came to pick me up for some eggs and milk other items . well joy's sub shop buyed out the soda pop shop next door to make in to a large seating and they upgraded there menu and stuff but due to two different kitchen fires they had to sell the place fire did little damage but the cost to the owner for insurance and fire fighters coming in twice was to much . well 2 different restaurants try to go there before Tijuana Tacos VI and failed. now for my review of Tijuana Tacos VI its what i think is the best replacement of joy's sub shop. might not have the same food but food is good they are very friendly and it where i have eaten my 1st cactus plant and lime i am A happy Neighbor of this eatery and i hope it last as long or longer then the 50 years plus of joy's

Really good tacos. As mentioned in other reviews the fried onion, cilantro and meat seasonings really distinguishes the food here. Friendly service.

Best mex food I've had since moving to the DMV. But that's not saying much. Had simple bean and cheese tacos and chips and red salsa. Not bad. But not good . I lived in south Texas and south Cali. This food does not compare. Over priced too. 3 tacos and some chips and salsa was 16. That same meal was 8 in Texas and la.

So the only reason I'm getting this place three stars is due to the fact I did not order the right food at an authentic Mexican place. The chicken burrito I got was ok but has fresh product. On the other hand nacho supreme was fantastic!! When I picked up my order I knew the mistake I made with my order by the other customers had far better appealing food. Would go back again.

This place wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. We carried out on a Thursday night. The inside isn't the nicest, but the prices were! The al pastor tacos were okay, the rice was flavorful. Would definitely stop by to try some more things.

Authentic! Better than El Salto, better than Los portales. Little hole in the wall with club music and if you can put that aside, youll love it. Their chicken enchiladas were amazing. The sauce was like no sauce Ive had before and the meal comes with a huge portion of beans and rice...you could eat it for 3 days, it's that big. And the steak burrito is wonderful. Big with tender meat and a bold flavor. The guy behind the counter gave us free almond milk (horchadas) and it was homemade. I couldn't stop drinking it. These people are so friendly and they make everything homemade.

Had to finally try this restaurant after reading the reviews. I have been driving by the place daily but never even given thought to stop there since it is tiny hole in the wall place. I was pleasantly surprised, yes the place is small, only few tables and most customers seemed to do pick up but the flavor of the food was so much better than any of the Mexican restaurants nearby. I had al pastor tostadas and the pork was delicious, seasoned perfectly. Portions were large. Great food, friendly service, will definitely be back.

After reading the reviews I gave it a shot but was sadly disappointed. The food was awful.Even the chips and salsa were awful.

This food was so good! Can't wait to go back! The people are very nice and they cook the food to order.

We ordered 3 tacos: carnitas, tongue, and grilled beef. All 3 were very good. They even had menudo that was great too, if you are into tripe of course. Best Mexican food I've had in MD so far.

BEST EVER, AUTHENTIC MEXICAN GRUB. This is as good as it gets and its right here in Glen Burnie. Try the Chilaquilas con Carne (basically nachos soaked in amazing sauce then covered with meat and other topping); their Chorizo Burritos are ridiculously good & the Spicy meat (Carne Enchilada) tacos are totally on point. If you are hankering for some thirst quenching HORCHATA, they give you a jumbo size cup, so bring a travel mug to store your extra drink! HANDS DOWN, THE BEST CHIPS in TOWN! The salsa verde is amazing and the red sauce will blow you away (spicy and flavorful). Rule of thumb, if the natives eat there, then you know its gotta be good. For an Angelino transplanted in the East Coast, this is a close to East LA food truck mexican goodness & reminiscent to driving down to TJ for some traditional foodie tripping.

Just a little hole in the wall place located next to a 7-Eleven but they do an amazing job. I went with some friends and we all got the Sopes. Made with homemade tortillas that are a little thicker and with a bit more chew (in a good way) than your traditional taco. I got 3, one each of the Al Pastor, Chorizo, ms Carne Asada. These are a really good size so 3 ended up being too many but I wanted to finish it all. The meat was well seasoned and flavorful topped with a bunch of stuff like sour cream, lettuce, tomato, cheese... You should check it out for a casual lunch!

You know those Mexican restaurants your friends living in Los Angeles or Miami or Austin always talk about? You know...those authentic Mexican restaurants that they love out there and they swear you would never find one because you're living (or dying) in Glen Freaking Burnie, Maryland? You know what I'm talking about. It's been the bane of your existence. Or your friends are the bane. Well, this is as close as you can get. The guacamole is indeed muy bien, as was everything else I've had. Just a heads up though: you need to give them some time to cook the food so if you're carrying out, it's best to it call in.

So, I'm from San Diego, CA and anyone who's eaten Mexican food there KNOWS nothing compares to TJ style Mexican food. Well, on the way back from the airport I was on Yelp (but of course!) and saw this place. Yeah, I was skeptical and thought, hey maybe they just through Tijuana in the name of the store just because, but my friend and I decided to try it out anyways. FIRST of all, they have Mexican Coca Cola. YUM. SECOND of all, their carne asada tacos were so freaking on point. I couldn't even believe it. It's like I was home again. The only thing missing was guacamole which I had to order a side of (OH, and by the way, THEY MAKE IT FRESH AS YOU ORDER IT). Delicious and just typing this review out is making my mouth water. My friend ordered the cheese enchilada with green sauce and he loved it. Before they bring out the mail meals they give you salsa and chips, which are also amazing. The tortilla chips are thick and super crunchy. My friend and I favored the green sauce because it was less spicy and had less bite. If you haven't been here, just go. I'm sure if you order carne asada anything it'll be delicious. Next time, I'm going for the carne asada burrito.

Falling more in love with this place. Ok so I didn't do my due diligence and get this last waitresses name but she was awesome and the cook came out to see how we enjoyed the meal. She was not the same cook as the last two times. Her food was pure bliss. I hope she is there again when I go back!

Still coming here two years later and it seems as if the word has caught on about how great this place really is. I have been here twice this week for the Tacos Al Pastor and the Watermelon Agua Fresca. Good lord, they are good. I'll definitely miss this place when I move at the end of the month.

Last minute decision after a day of unpacking to get takeout from somewhere in the new area. This place had decent reviews so they called. Their site says "Free Delivery" but when I asked on the phone they said they did not do that... A big a language barrier with some of the employees but that's ok - if you order directly off their menu you won't have any problems. I had the Mixed fajitas which came with chicken steak and shrimp. So tasty! The rice is a little unflavored. Bright orange color makes you think otherwise but it wasn't that great. I didn't get a side of their guac but I see from others that's a real popular dish (we still had some at home so I had that). Service was fast. The place has a few tables inside but nothing too fancy. You can tell they mostly do pickup. My fiancé had the carnitas burrito and he really liked his!

Great place!!! Limited space but really big food. I datn close to Tijuana in San Ysidro California for many years so I really miss the days in San Diego, getting an adaboda taco prepared right in front of me, huge breakfast burritos, carne asada fries or chips, or a great torta.....mmmmm. Adobada sliced right off the rotisserie and layed on a grilled tortilla with all the fixings. This was an ok close, but I needed a salsa bar or something more to wet my tacos. The 2 salsas on the table were flaming hot. The fresh guacomole was delicious. I couldn't get enough of it but the chips were cold. Overall I gave this place 4 stars for the limited seating area and cold chips. Chips should be hot out of the fryer. Although I would definitely try this place again. This time make it to go.

Had the carne asada burrito..mostly lettuce. The rice was unseasoned but ok...filler mostly. The meat was good but didnt get much of it...could be really good if they were more generous with the meat.

I liked the friendly service from the employees that took my order by phone and that took my payment for my to-go order. When their credit card machine was down they were even so kind as to not charge me for a couple small items so I would not need to use the ATM to retrieve more kind which I found to be extremely generous of them. Portions are hearty and the food is decent. The meats have been overcooked on 2 separate occasions including the chicken, pork for pork tacos, and steak for steak tacos..... Albeit tasty, more chewy and dry than I prefer biting in to. They are a decent option for lunch or dinner with a far more authentic Mexican flare than a lot of the Tex mex places in the area.

This is hands down the best Mexican food we've ever had. And we eat Mexican pretty regularly. We stumbled upon this place by chance when we were in the area. We pulled up yelp to find lunch and this place was less than a mile away and had stellar reviews. We were absolutely not disappointed. The guacamole was incredible, the chicken enchiladas were MASSIVE and absolutely delicious, as was the carne asada burrito. It's a very small place with just a few tables but it's well worth the trip. Phenomenal.

"Delivery" it says. Lies! "False advertisement" should be written on their building. I live less than 2 miles down the road. And yes, I'm aware I can drive. But with a sick infant, I won't. I'm not packing her in the car just for mediocre food. QUIT FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!

I am not giving this place four stars for decor because the restaurant is very simple with a few tables and chairs but it serves its purpose. If the purpose was to serve up some good tacos then mission accomplished. I got the three taco combination and I for once found a Mexican eatery in MD that is not afraid to make it rain cilantro on their food. Very tasty as I got a mix of carne asada, chorizo, and pollo tacos. There are a few places to sit of you want. I got mines to go as it was getting late but it was hard for me to resist smelling it in my car. Ready to head back and sample their other foods. BTW they have horchata!!!!!!!!!

The reviews that said this place is like a San Diego taco shop are dead wrong. I spent 18 years in San Diego and ither then a small restaurant with no working A.C. and the door propped open, it didn't remind me of the food I grew up with at all. The food is ok (nothing to write home about) but definitely not So Cal Mexican.

Wow just like SoCal Tacos, can't wait to eat here next week. This is a total dive joint, but don't let the language barrier stop you from enjoying some dead-on Mexican food.

Taken to go orders from here twice now and I feel like I'm ready to make a solid review. Tried both carne asada and chicken tacos and burritos. The chicken was more flavorful and easier to eat since I found the beef to have a lot more u chewable fat. The burritos are a solid choice if you're looking to satisfy your hunger but coming from CA, this isn't all that impressive. Still looking for my solid taco spot

I found out about Tijuana Tacos from my girlfriend, who found it via random search while she was in the area. She raved about the tacos, and with me being an ex-NYC taco fiend we decided to stop by on a trip south one evening. We ending up getting on the road late, and arrived only about 15 minutes before closing...on a Sunday. Since they had already cleaned up the dining room we figured we may be out of luck, but they assured us we could still order. "10 minutes" was the quoted time as they fired up the grills. Not 5 minutes later, food was ready. We ate in the car so we wouldn't be in the way as they finished closing, but right off the bat they scored points for being so easy going about us popping in right before close. Long story short: Amazing food. Granted I only had the tacos but each was fantastic, really well seasoned, tender and delicious. Properly traditional. I definitely plan on going back as soon as I can. Worth the detour off 95 or worth a trip for some authentic Mexican.

Great authentic food. It looks like a dive, and it is, but don't let that stop you. Cons: you can not alter the items on the menu..well maybe you can but my mediocre Spanish did not provide my server with a clear picture of what I wanted. But quite frankly, I didn't need to change a thing.

The guacamole is good and the portions are plentiful! 6 four-top tables are all that is there. Very authentic with hints of cinnamon in the spicy beef.

Roadside taco stand. As soon as you pull up you know this is going to be good. Lost of spanish signs in the windows, and it has that side of the road, hole in the wall vibe. It is right next to a flower shop, as if it is part of a movie set. It is located right near RT 97--and ideal place to pick up dinner after a beach vacation. The restaurant itself is very small, so if there is a crowd you might be getting your order to-go. There were just a few people there early on a Friday. The menu is a little over complicated. Salsa was great--green and spicy. Chips a bit stale. And they have an odd collection of sodas--no Diet Coke, which for me is bummer. I thought about going next door to the 7-11 and grabbing one. They have a full collection of bottled Mexican style soda, which seems about right. (but how about a DC for a gringo?) The tacos were great. I tried the chorizo, beef and pork. All three were wonderful. I could not have enjoyed them more. In fact, it was a little much for lunch and I did not finish. This is authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex. I was in and out quickly, and the fellas that were working there were very nice. All in all, a good find.

WOW! This is the BEST AUTHENTIC Mexican food I've had since moving to Maryland from San Diego 12 years ago! This transported me right back to a little taco shop that they have all over San Diego. I was up in the Baltimore area for 3 days and I ate here 4 times in that time period if that tells you how freaking ahhhhhmazing the food here is. I will definitely be making the 1 1/2 drive back up to Tijuana Tacos from my home here in Southern Maryland.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
